Pewewardy, Newton 64, of Wichita, KS, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 in Lawton, OK. He was born July 5, 1952 in Lawton, to Walter Carney and Velma (Tahchawwickah) Pewewardy. He graduated high school in Wichita and was working as a construction foreman. He loved playing pool. Memorial service for Newton Pewewardy will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, in the Pete Coffey Mennonite Brethren Church, Cache, OK with Rev. James Ikner, Church of the Nazarene and Norman Nauni, Cache, OK officiating. Burial will be in the Post Oak Cemetery, Indiahoma, OK under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. Survivors include his mother, Velma Kemble of Cache, OK; 2 aunts, Rose Nauni of Cache, OK, Helen Cable of Cache, OK; 2 uncles, Pete Coffey, Jr. of Ponca City, OK, and Nick Tahchawwickah of Cache, OK; special friends, John Talbert and wife, Toni of Wichita, KS, Danny Mans and wife, Jeanie of Wichita, KS, Mark Mitchell and wife, Teresa of Wichita, KS and Jim Gordon of Wichita, KS. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Robert Darrell Pewewardy; 3 aunts, Marguerite Parker of Cache, OK, Mary Ellen Morris of Indiahoma, OK, Vida Woommavovah of Cache, OK; and uncle, Allen Tahchawwickah.
