It was a bleak time
For the people of the earth
So The Lord set forth the plan
For the Messiah’s birth
An angel told Zechariah and his wife of their special happy day
For it would be their son John
To truly prepare the way
An angel came to Mary
She was the selected one
Another came to Joseph
Saying Mary would bear a son
Even Caesar Augustus
Played into God’s plan
Causing Mary and Joseph
To travel to Bethlehem
The child was born that night
As the lowest babe of all
His crib would be a manger
Placed within an animal stall
“For unto us a child is born
Unto us a Son is given
And He shall be called
Wonderful, Counselor
The mighty God, everlasting Father
And Prince of Peace”

Your Book
If your life was a book
would you sit upon a shelf
wishing readers would
choose someone else
Keeping your cover closed
hiding all the pages
that might hold truth
for all ages
The time has come
to open our lives
to show the pages
without disguise
Let people see
things you’ve been through
It will help them
and benefit you
Get off the shelf
shake off the dust
let everyone know
in whom you trust

I had no idea that you wrote a book. Wow! And especially on the city of Wichita.
I wrote a book of inspirational poetry in 2009 call Showers of Inspiration. It started when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. A good friend of mine an fellow author urged me to complete the book and he would get it published. I still write now and then and have compiled close to six hundred poems
